TESTIMONIALS

“Hi Guys - How’s this for a testimonial? I’m back less than a month and want to go on another trip!  I’d like to reserve a spot for Southeast Asia in February. What do I have to do??? It was really an excellent trip! You cannot imagine how nervous I was as an independent traveler going on her first tour…..I enjoyed: The completely organized nature of the tour – every detail was taken care of and well thought out. The pace – we really got a good feel for each place we visited. The camaraderie of the group of well traveled people with similar interests.
I definitely learned more from Karl in the first 15 minutes than I ever knew. Finally took the camera off full automatic! I definitely took the best pictures of my life, (so far).  Karl was amazing!  He was extremely patient, a great teacher, and pleasure to travel with.  I really appreciate the time he took to interview new guides, make sure all arrangements were perfect, give thorough info about equipping for the next day’s destination, camera settings, etc.  And, while I’m not sure I’m over the reluctance to take pictures of people where there is no propina involved, Karl definitely helped me with this!
The trip was definitely a good value. I’ve been researching it for awhile, and knew what the options were. I have recommended this trip to friends already (and the people on the travel chat boards I frequent).”  Eva Grodberg, New York, NY

“This trip was a photographer’s dream coming true.  It is not the typical tourist holiday, but a trip that was dedicated to each individual’s personal goals and to make the most of our personal experiences.  A great way to make Memorable Moments and new friendships!  Jim, you were great!  You had a smile on your face all the time, even though you were not well at the beginning of the trip.  You are very gracious and more than accommodating.  Thanks for all the helpful assistance and advice I received trying to get a grasp of my camera’s functions, I learned a lot and appreciate the help.  It was a dream trip for me to just sit (or stand) and photograph for hours – it was fun to be with others interested in doing the same.
The “hands-on” advice given when I was actually taking the photos (night shots, sunrise, sunset, direct sunlight, dark and light objects in the same picture, etc) was so beneficial.  This type of photo discussions works great for me instead of an “in classroom” setting.  I know I received more than the monetary cost of the trip.  Everything was coordinated but still had enough free time to accommodate everyone on the trip.
Jim, thank you again for a fantastic trip. You are a great tour leader that makes for a fun trip.  I had a very rewarding time and learned a lot of photography as well as the beautiful people and places of Guatemala. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and made me feel very included in everything.  How rewarding to make new friends. Thanks again for a great time. Thanks for the great group photograph and CD.  What fun to look at the "paparazzi" taking pictures. My husband enjoyed looking at the pictures and how much fun the group was having taking pictures and interacting with the people. Hopefully he can go on one of your trips.”  Robbie Hamper, Columbus, Ohio

“Dear Jim, I usually don't comment much after a trip, but I would be not true to my thoughts if I did not write you about Karl and the India trip that he led.  I am sure that you know he is an amazing trip leader. Having been on many trips and a seasoned traveler for most of my life, Karl gets a 10 in my book.
Karl is the perfect match of leader, photographer, teacher, and interested in all of his clients.  He made everyone feel welcome and helped please anyone he could. He is a combination of an amazing photographer, sincere teacher, diplomat, and most important a man that likes to help people. He is the kind of a man that you can trust at once and know he is interested in your life, not only as a photographer, but as a friend. Both Jan and I felt as we left him, that we had shared a unique experience, that we own mainly to Karl and his wonderful way of always making our days in India special.  Our wish is that someday, we may share another wonderful experience with him. ”  Robert Angell, Wilmington, Vermont

“Jim, thank you for another wonderful weekend.  I appreciate your organization, enthusiasm, and sincerity so much.  I come back to San Diego completely refreshed and happily exhausted.  I would love to go over and over again.  What a great trip you have created!  My pictures from this trip seem to have come from a different perspective and I’m getting to feel a little friendlier towards my digital camera.”  Phyllis Weiss, San Diego, CA

“Karl is an excellent tour leader.  He was very enthusiastic, knowledgeable and seemed to genuinely care that group members got good photos – much better than leaders on other photo tours I have taken. I also appreciated his slide show of the trip and the beautiful group photo. Thank you both!
“I really appreciate the amount of planning that went into this tour and the effort you made to find photogenic locations.  I brought back more good photos from this trip than other photo tours I’ve been on.  I thought the cost was reasonable, we’d like to go on another tour with Karl and/or Jim.”  Marketa Ebert, Hyattsville, MD

“I want to thank you for all the effort you put into planning for our Oaxaca trip.  The trip was well-organized.  You took us to places I never would have found on my own, and I had all the creative freedom I needed.  And you got us there at just the right time, for the best light. I enjoyed the hotel on the Zocalo......I just had a great time.  I am so pleased with the variety of shots, and am sending copies to many people.  Monica, a 17 year old girl from the art school you took us to, e-mails me almost everyday, to practice her English.  I'm looking forward to getting together, and sharing our shots.  I Just wanted to thank you for taking the time to make the CD of our trip.  I love the photos that you took of me and the others.  I never have pictures of myself, and this will be a nice memory.  The trip was way better than I imagined, thanks again for all your efforts.”  Sharon Anthony, Carlsbad, CA

“Karl is not only a very good trip leader, he also is an exceptional human being.  He was very helpful and gave us a lot of useful hints.  I found this to be a very successful trip with lots of good photo opportunities, with just the right amount of people.”  Frans Alkemade, Carlsbad, CA

“Great trip!  Jim, we REALLY enjoyed that trip !  I am looking forward to next time. I have never had a trip leader try so hard to cater to everyone's individual requests. Much appreciated.  You get my "Patience-of-the-Century" award and I hope you last a few more years before you go nuts so that we can take more trips with you !!”  Kenneth & Carla Voigt, San Antonio, TX

“I thought the pace and the variety of activities was just right, and the availability of free time for rest, shopping, or wandering was much appreciated by me and everyone else, I think.  My favorite activities were the evening comparsas in the city and the villages – extraordinary and unforgettable experiences.  But also great were the cemetery visits, the markets, the churches (all very different), and the archeological sites……….I’m certainly glad I stayed for the one day extension, and also that I followed your suggestion and came down a day early.
I thought that your presentations – especially the fact that they were keyed to the specific kinds of shoots that we were going to be encountering and were illustrated by examples of shots from the same events from previous trips – was very helpful.  This was not advertised as a workshop and we were not engaged in specific assignments and critiquing our work on location.  Such workshops exist for those who want them but this trip seemed to me a perfect combination of photo shoot and holiday – intense but not stressful. So the amount and nature of the instruction seemed to me just about right.  In particular I found your tips about nighttime shooting in the cemeteries and the slow synchronized flash techniques to be really enlightening and feel that without being subjected to a demanding class I had gained a lot of new experience during the week, especially in terms of using my tripod and flash.
I thought you were a very congenial and concerned trip leader, and you found a good balance between regimenting us and letting us stray.  I also thought the trip a good value for the money.  I have already recommended it (and the website) to others, and am definitely hoping to do the same trip again sometime in the future – this time with my wife.  It was a wonderful, rich and exciting experience, and a truly fabulous venue for photography.”  Lou Montrose, Solana Beach, CA

“Hi Jim, just a quick email to let you know what a great trip Viv & I had in Peru - thanks for organising things - everything worked well. Peru was superb. Certainly one of our better holidays. I think we were really lucky with the weather conditions at Machu Picchu. Looks like the Rickabys will be going with you again, and I would certainly like to do another trip with you sometime.
Karl was absolutely great as I am sure you know. His enthusiasm is quite infectious! Relaxed, enthusiastic, helpful.  We thought his photo discussions were great!  As beginners we were soaking up Karl’s info. This was a very well worked out vacation.  It would appeal to anyone who wants to visit Peru and needs an activity rather than just tourism.  Small group allows interactivity so people work together well.  We’re going to Southeast Asia again with Karl.”  John Rickaby, London, England”  John Rickaby, London, England

“With all the trips and planning that goes into the trips I am always impressed how you go the extra mile to make CD's and show pics of all the fun trips and much more. Your love for traveling, people and photography comes across to everyone who crosses your path. I feel very lucky to have met you and had the privilege of sharing a trip with you and fellow shutter bugs. I look forward to the Guatemala trip.  keep looking at the world through artist's eyes.”  Tena Cohn, Del Mar, CA

“The tour was a very good value – I’ve recommended this trip to many already.  The group size, where the trip takes you, and it’s lead by an accomplished photographer.  Perfect way to see a country such as Peru.  I felt like I got the real essence of the country.  The fact that I could ask simple, sometimes silly questions before the trip commenced, with you, Jim, helped considerably – to have that personal touch.  You and Karl have photos online that draw you in.  Our souvenir CD – “icing on the cake”.  You both work well as a team and made it possible and comfortable for me to travel alone.
Karl was the best.  He seemed to give us equal time.  Very fair, understanding…..loved to watch his techniques.  Always so positive.  Kept the group “in line” without being a dictator. Gently nudged us along.  Attentive to all our needs!  I found it very helpful to be within earshot of him for there was always some gem of information he was giving.  He gave me a considerable amount of his time and I wanted more.
I
enjoyed that our itinerary was all set-up – all taken care of so we could just enjoy.  We saw important places – typical tourist places, but also places most don’t go to ie: Willoq and the salt pools.  Many times we were in the right place at the right time.  A very varied two weeks with wonderful hikes – loved that – Pisac Ruins!  Salt pools – fabulous.  I loved the anticipation – each day filled with something new and interesting.  Thank you for a great vacation!”  Diane Spottswood, Marlborough, MA

“Hi Jim, after seeing the pictures which I brought back, I could definitely see that your guidance greatly helped. As the trip advanced, there were more and more pictures which I liked. The most useful lessons in achieving this were to shoot with the light and not to shoot when it is not right. That made me bring less total pictures back but increased my satisfaction with those. Even showing these pictures to friends and family, they saw more beauty in Peru than elsewhere because of the pictures.
So, thank you for your guidance, it has been very valuable. My next goal is to see if I can produce pictures of this quality the next time I travel. Even the people pictures there turned out better than expected, it was really my weak-point before, but now several people want me to take portraits of them!
Jim was incredibly attentive and very knowledgeable on the tour.  Organization was great and quite punctual.  The advance briefings also were useful in creating a sense of our destinations.  I’ve already recommended it to several people who have a keen interest in photography.  The key is to have someone help us see the light around us. Thanks again”  Itai Danan, Montreal, Quebec

“I also want to echo my appreciation for a great trip!  I had an amazing time - it was wonderful.  It was well-planned, the group was great, and Karl was a natural leader.   I feel very, very lucky to have found your tour - I found it on the internet and didn't know a thing about you or your photo tours, but you were great in terms of answering questions timely and with a thorough response.  I had a good feeling about going - and I am so glad that I did!  Thanks again - if you need any recommendations or anything along
that line, please do not hesitate to give out my name and email.  I would be more than happy to pass on a great word about your trip to Peru.”  Mara Nicholson, San Jose , CA

“Jim , thank you for sharing the beauty of Baja.  Petting a whale, watching dolphins (and a sea lion) frolic around our boat, dinner at Ray's, visiting the ranch outside of Loreto, listening to the silence of the desert and seeing the shimmering green sea were just some of my favorite moments.  Through it all, you lead us with kindness and patience.  Your hard work and personal style made the Length of Baja an unforgettable journey.”  Willeah Oelbaum, San Diego, CA

“We really did have an amazing time in Peru!  Karl was a fantastic tour leader.  I learnt a huge amount about photography from Karl, and his guidance each day and availability for critique sessions was great.  He was very aware of everyone’s pace etc.  I think the trip was very good value for money.  I already have recommended the trip/company to friends.  I felt the group size was just about right, the hotels/travel arrangements were very well taken care of, and having a professional photographer on hand all the time was invaluable!
I enjoyed the trip enormously, and have had some really positive feedback on my photos from family and friends.  I think going on this trip with your company rather than by ourselves, opened up so many more opportunities to us.  We both loved the day in Huilloc and got some of our best pictures there, and would never have experienced such a thing without Karl’s knowledge of the village.”  Julie Carter, Toronto, Canada

“Jim, I think you did an excellent job and paid much attention to us and gave us some very good photography advice.  I think your helpful hints were very good as well as the slide shows you gave.  The slide shows demonstrated what one would like to strive for.  Oaxaca is a very interesting place and you have a very good and productive schedule of events.  You guys do a great job for your tours.  Really good planning, and give us a lot of good tips about each location. Thanks again. Very good planning and attention to the participants – I hope to go on more Jim Cline photo tours.”  David Ebert, Hyattsville, Maryland

“Karl is an A++ leader and was wonderful in helping us – just a wonderful person!

  1. Best leader, well acquainted with all the places
  2. Well, very well, organized tour
  3. Excellent local guides
  4. Small group of participants
  5. Good traditional show
  6. Food a-la-cart in all restaurants
This was the best tour I have ever taken!  Looking forward to joining your next tours, great job!”
    Marietta Baginsky, San Diego, CA

“Oaxaca seems to have taken root in me in a way no place else has.  Plainly, I can't wait to get back.
The light, the color, the sense of tradition and connectedness.  It was overwhelming – which is why I have to see it again.  Sitting quietly on the pyramid steps with the group around was the perfect “power down” for trip’s end.  It was a time to watch the images of the days blur past – almost too cool for words.
You have a very nice way about you and it enables people to become comfortable.  You also encourage trip members to get out and do the work – to get out and try.  Those skills are immeasurable.”  Steve Pool, New York, NY

“I wanted you to know that i had a fabulous time in Peru!!  Karl was terrific as our guide and mentor!!..........it was an unforgettable trip. it will probably take a few weeks to go thru all the images. Karl did a slide show of all of us and i hope you can make copies for us to keep as a memory -it was wonderful.  hope all is well with you!!  hoping to do another trip in the next few months.”  Michele Zousmer, Rancho Santa Fe,  CA

“Karl, I would like to thank you for a great tour. Even though I was tiring at the end I enjoyed every moment thoroughly. I learnt a lot from you and also from the other members of the group. Also a special thank you for watching out for me on those difficult descents- you were always ready to catch me if I fell!  My greatest fear was that if I fell off the mountain I might take you with me!  I know how hard it is to coordinate a tour such as this, and the amount of work that goes on behind the scenes. You were always patient with us even though you must have been tested at times.  It was a vast improvement on my previous photographic trip to Vietnam and would congratulate both Jim and you for the planning and the delivery of an informative and well organised tour.  Your slide show on the last night was fantastic.   I look forward to catching up with you again-maybe in India!  I think it was an excellent tour, with my very best wishes and thanks to you and Jim.”   Darrell Milbourne, Tasmania, Australia

“Hi Jim, the photo trip to Baja and viewing the Gray Whales was better than I ever expected.  Being able to share it with my son, Matthew, made it even more special for me.  You took such good care of us.  Your attention to detail had us at the right time of day to get the best light for the ospreys and desert scenes.  The highlight of the trip for us was the gray whales.  They were magnificent!  The bonus was actually being able to touch them.  Besides providing fine accommodations, the restaurants were terrific.  I simply could not get my fill of the outstanding seafood.  I wish I could find Lion-paw scallops in San Diego.  They were so delicious.  Thank you for a truly fine photo adventure.  I look forward to another trip with you in the future.  Thanks again”  Carol Brody, La Mesa, CA

“I think the trip was a very good value.  I would indeed recommend to friends, both Jim Cline Photo Tours and travel to Peru.  The trip was a wonderful blend of touring and photography.  We were in the right places at the right times.  As a small group, we were able to make better use of our time than if traveling in a large group (service at meals, loading up, checking in, finding an open space to set up one’s tripod, etc.).  The itinerary was organized well in balancing opportunities to photograph a wide variety of subject matter.   I had a great time!
Karl was fun to travel with and he did an excellent job of making the trip flow along effortlessly for us.   That’s no small feat!  Karl’s wide angle portraiture technique was cool and something I hadn’t been exposed to before.  I enjoyed practicing that.  I enjoyed traveling with a small group, the locations we went to (esp. the contrast between rural and city life) and the cultural richness of Peru.   I was also delighted with the festivals we encountered in some of the small towns (Ollantaytambo, Pucara).  And I’m very pleased with the amount of history I came away with, particularly the exposure to Peru’s Incan heritage and archaeological sites.  You're doing a wonderful job for those of us who only get out in the world once in a while!!”  Cindy Bell, Chandler, AZ

“It was a great trip!  No amount of reading about the Day of the Dead prepared me for the range of emotions of the people or the great attitude they have about death.  You are very knowledgeable and you constantly tried to improve the experience when you got new information.  I am pleased with my pictures.  Really captured a lot of emotions in the cemeteries.  Now I want to go see the gray whales!”  Gwynn Ellis, Albuquerque, New Mexico

“Jim, thanks again for the amazing photo tour in Peru.  It's definitely one of the best trips I've ever been on.  Feel free to list me as a reference for anyone who has any questions. I learned more about photography in two weeks on this trip than the last 20 yrs.  Karl was an amazing instructor, leader and tour guide.  He had great energy and passion for the entire trip.  Just going on shoots with him was worth the trip alone.  I still can’t believe what I learned and the quality of my pictures.  THANKS!!!  The time for photo lectures and advice was perfect.  Karl gave excellent lectures and discussions.  He was also always available individual conversations too.  This was one of the highlights of the trip. The tour was an excellent value.  For the price, everything that was included was a great deal.  Including someone of Karl’s caliber made the trip a great deal.  I’d absolutely recommend this trip to friends that were interested in a photo tour. This  was one of my best trips ever!  Thanks again!”  Ed Strennen, Atlanta, Georgia

“The trip was perfection.  I really appreciated the chance to see Ensenada and take photos there.  For photography people, you are very instructive and helpful.  For travel enthusiasts, you take us to exotic places!  After many years of taking students on field trips, I can appreciate the energy it takes.  And you came through with flying colors!  Your enthusiasm for photography and life in general is contagious.  Great job, Jim!  Thank you!”  Sharon Klein, Solana Beach, CA

“Karl was Awesome!  I learned a lot from him – camera settings (color saturation, white balance, etc) really helped me a lot.  I knew after a few days that I would want to go on another trip with Karl leading in the future.  He is a very talented photographer and at the same time genuine and extremely conscious of the group’s well being and enjoyment.
I was very impressed with how the tour was handled from the start – very organized, well run, and Karl is vey experienced in the country.  I have told all my family and friends that I do want to return to India because the photography is just too awesome – I loved the colors and the extremely unusual photo opportunities.”  Jennifer Dooley, Port Chester, NY

“Jim, thank you so much for the exceptional journey to Baja for the wonderful photographic and nature experience. Communing with the whales and their babies plus the rare Catavina desert environment is a bit of heaven on earth.  Your knowledge of this region made it so educational and both places are a wonder to behold.  I can only hope to experience it with you again one day, once is not enough!"
Sharon Murnane, San Diego, CA

“Karl was great!  It was the one-on-one he everyone that really impressed me.  He made sure everyone understood what they had questions about.  I learned more about my camera in those 3 weeks with Karl than the last 10 years of having my camera!  One night he gave up his own sleep to go through some of m pictures with me.  You have no idea just how much I learned from that.  Would I recommend this trip?  You bet!  It was a great trip!!
Karl, I just wanted to tell you “thank you” for all you did for me in India.  I learned so much about my camera.  You were such an awesome leader – I don’t know who would stay up until midnight going over my pictures with me!  Again, I was amazed at how much I had learned.  I just wanted to say thanks and I hope I can venture out with you again sometime.”  Patti Sivils, Rogersville, Missouri

“Hi Jim, Just a little note here to say ‘thanks!’  for an awesome trip!  Jim, you were great!  You knew the area like the back of your hand, communicated well with us as a group & were eager to teach us more about photography.  The places you took us were gorgeous and I appreciated your helpful tips at different places (eg, about exposure, ISO, white balance, etc).  I loved your slide shows!  Your slide shows were a preview of what was to come and also a look at how beautiful shots can be taken.  I also found your tips throughout the day (exposure, etc) to be helpful reminders – thanks!
Great locations to visit….see a beautiful area of the world – photo opportunities abound!
The scenery! – I like the meeting of the desert, mountains and sea.  I like how the trip was paced, and the casual atmosphere – we were able to ask questions and give suggestions.  I thoroughly enjoyed getting a feel for a place I’d seen & the golden photo opportunities along the way.  Thanks again for a fun trip.”  Arenda Schutte, Kenmore, WA

“We just returned from our trip to Peru with Karl.  It was fabulous.  Karl is a natural instructor, I learned more from him in this short time than ever before.  He is very professional and always available to assist, and very good at making adjustments along the way.We were blown away with all of the instruction on photo techniques and camera settings information Karl gave us.  He was patient and kind and always helpful.  We will definitely go on another Jim Cline tour.”  Harry & Judi Purcell, Pensacola Beach, Florida

“Jim, I wanted to tell you thanks for a truly amazing trip last month.  Your trip gave me an opportunity to relax, enjoy the adventure and concentrate on my photography.  It was obvious you had spent a lot of time traveling in Mexico and specifically in Baja.  Catavina was without a doubt the most unique desert environment I’ve ever experienced.  And to think they put such a great little hotel in the middle of it.  I could have spent a week there as long as the film supply held out.  My trip highlight however was our encounters with the Gray Whales at Laguna Ojo de Liebre.  There were times I had to remind myself that I was there to shoot film.  I found myself staring in amazement as those huge animals glided past our little boat, seemingly within arms reach.”
“You made this trip an awesome adventure.  Thank you!  I will certainly be joining you again on another trip to Baja in the very near future!”   Dan Megna, Ramona, CA

“Hi Jim, just wanted to let you know again that I had a great time on the trip.  You have so much enthusiasm for photography and the culture of Latin America.  This will build your business and really the best advertisement is by word of mouth...you can be sure that I will share my enthusiasm also for your photo tours.  I really learned so much about photography, the culture of Baja - especially the grey whales and future possible trips.  We really learn from each other and your tour was a good place to share ideas, concepts and just have a good time also.  I will see you on future trips......now about that after trip party?”
Dale Denio, San Diego, CA

“Karl was GREAT – he must really love his job.  He handled logistical snags and all our tourist ailments AND stayed upbeat, full of energy, and helped us see.  He was totally professional and treated everyone with the same dignity and respect regardless of our photographic abilities.  His little demonstrations of how to use a wide angle lens were INVALUABLE.  He gave us examples of looking for good light and waiting for subjects to walk into it, finding a good background and waiting for people to walk in front of it.
The tour was excellent value!  When I heard Karl make comments like “No, take us to the fourth island there on the left – the light will be better there because there won’t be any shadows from the other islands” – it was obvious that Karl was way more than a tour guide – he could anticipate a photographer’s requirement of good light and take us to the exact perfect spot to take most advantage of it.  Having a photographer lead our tours makes your vacations head and shoulders above other sightseeing tours.  I want to take pictures in the good light, and I LOVED being with like-minded people.”  Ruth DeBardeleben, Doylestown, PA

““Thanks, it was a great trip.  Excellent hotels!  I found your photo instruction useful.  One of my photos was one of the best ones in my photography class final show. Actually, we found that there was nothing we could recommend that would have improved the trip. We both had a fine time and enjoyed ourselves in the company of a group of photo addicts. The trip gave us a very pleasant break from Eastern late winter and from the every day cares and routines.”  Thanks again, Hans & Alison Rilling, Lexington, VA

“Jim, Greetings, I just wanted to thank you and your professional staff of Karl for a great trip to Peru. Every moment was interesting, educational, fun, and offered great opportunities to improve on my photography techniques. Karl, as you did in Guatemala, went beyond the call of duty to accommodate us at all times and make sure we were doing o.k. at the higher altitude.  Thanks for all of your work (and Karl's) for making our trips memorable and special!
I believe your trips off the most, and more, for the cost. I have already recommended the trips to others.  Karl was super! Great!  Very “tuned in” to everyone’s needs at all times, our safety on some of the trails.  Karl was genuine and friendly at all times and a person with care and concern for others.  A true humanitarian!  The photo workshops, discussions, and “hands on” advice was very beneficial and helpful.  Small hints and suggestions helped to the creation of some great shots that I never thought would be possible.  I’ve learned so much about my digital camera.

Dinner the last day in Lima was a good bonding time at the end of the trip.  I appreciate Karl’s time and effort to get the CD finished for us.  You and Karl should be proud of your trips!”  Robbie Hamper, Columbus, OH

“Hi Jim, I had a wonderful time on the trip to Ensenada/Tecate.  It was beyond my expectations in several ways -- more learning, more different kinds of settings to photograph, and more of an opportunity to experience the northern Baja culture than I could have imagined for a weekend trip.  I appreciated your knowledge of the area and the people, and the atmosphere of learning and creativity that you encouraged in the group.  I will definitely sign up for a future excursion, and I would recommend your trips to anyone who loves photography and travel.”  Bette Jo Garrett, San Diego, CA

“Karl’s advice as usual was excellent.  I have the greatest respect for Karl both as a person and photographer.  He displayed great patience and understanding of individuals and their needs.  To visit all these countries without any real hassles (with a group of people with diverse personalities) was a great achievement and an endorsement of his organisational skills.”  Darrell Milbourne, Sandy Bay, Australia

“Hi Jim, I just had a wonderful time.  The trip just could not have been better, and was so rich on many levels.  I really expanded my technical knowledge, along with enjoyment of such incredible beauty………  I just keep thinking of those magnificent mammals staring at us! And as a bonus, the ospreys!  The group was fun, and I enjoyed the humor, and also the passion for photography that everyone shared.  The accommodations were clean and comfortable, and every meal was delicious.  I especially loved the lion paw scallops in Guerrero Negro.  Thanks again for going the extra mile for us........I know we all appreciated it.  Hasta Luego”   Sharon Anthony, Carlsbad, CA

“Jim, I had a wonderful trip to Peru.   It was a trip of a life time.   Karl was wonderful and we all had a great time.”  Gwenda Humphreys, San Diego, CA

“Jim, you showed great sensitivity to everybody in the group.  Your personal contact with the local people made the visit special.  Thank you for a great trip.  Also, many thanks for the group photo and CD.”  Ute Mannhardt, Calgary, Canada

“Jim, your dedication and sensitivity are really quite extraordinary.”  Regine Weissler, London, England

“I am finding that the SE Asia trip Karl crafted has had a profound effect on me.  It was a wonderful trip.  I was really looking forward to it which sometimes sets the stage for disappointment.  Not this time. The trip exceeded my expectations dramatically.
Karl was great!  Interesting, fun, and set a tone that couldn’t be beat.  I enjoyed my fellow travelers, and the people of Southeast Asia were wonderful.  What did I enjoy most………hummm…the way Karl handled people so as to bring out the best in them.”  Wille Oelbaum, San Diego

“I really love all the images and the great memories of all the fun times we had.  I can truly say that your Oaxaca trip will go down in my book as one of the best trips I have taken. You made it really enjoyable.  You know a lot of the locals and it allowed us to slide right in.  The people, the town, you and my fellow shutter bugs made it a blast! I am so glad that I was able to share it with all of you”  Tena Cohn, Del Mar, CA.

“I loved all of it!!  Karl is terrific – even when we gave him a hard time!  I absolutely would recommend the (India) trip!  You can use me as a reference any time.  Let me know you plan your Africa and Cuba trips!”  Michele Zousmer, Rancho Santa Fe, CA

“Thanks again for our extensive and wonderfully inspiring trip to Baja California Sur. Now that I'm sort of used to the area, I'm just about ready to go on that trip again or "The Length of Baja" trip. I miss the great seafood, and maybe a little photography……."Leave them wanting more"...  mmm....  Well, I don't know about wanting more, but certainly AGAIN. I wouldn't want more, trip was packaged in an outstanding manner. That is why I will one day take the same trip or The Length of Baja trip.”  Richard Ingles, Cypress, CA

“Jim, we had the BEST time this past weekend. It was such a great experience for us. Even with my point and shoot camera, I went outside of my comfort zone of taking pictures of people and got some nice shots of places and abstracts. We had a great time meeting everyone. What a fun group!.........I can't wait to see everyone's photos!”  Sara Denton, San Marcos, CA

“Thanks for the great Baja trip!  Nice job, we always marvel at your patience.  Jim, thanks for a wonderful time and the CD images you sent.”  Ned & Sara Badertscher, Carlsbad, CA

“Jim,  Hi there!  Peru was wonderful!  Lee & I really enjoyed it. The people we went with were all lots of fun to be with. Our pictures we came back with are getting a lot better.  We can definitely see improvement. We felt Karl was putting out extra effort to make sure everyone was having a great time.  We really appreciated the critique session on our photos.  We felt it is very valuable for improving our photography skills.  It was really nice that the group was small.  Also the pace of the trip was not too fast, with adequate free time.  Interfacing with the people and the culture was nice – it was much better than just visiting sites and then moving on.”  Lee & Sequoia Zook, San Diego, CA

“Thanks again for  a wonderful tour of Peru.  I was too tired yesterday to look at photos, but now I can hardly wait to start sorting through all of them.”  Barbara Swanson, Encinitas, CA

“Hi Jim, I just wanted to send my most sincere thank you for the great Ensenada trip! It was absolutely wonderfully planned in every sense!  This was a great treat for me!  Spending time with absolutely great people who love photography was very inspiring to me. I cannot wait to see other people's pictures!  The whole trip was so well planned that I felt I got a perfect combination of being a tourist and taking pictures.  Also, I was so pleasantly surprised to get mail from you yesterday!  I'm sure all of us appreciate getting the group picture and the CD! THANK YOU!”  Sirpa Rauhio, Poway, CA

“I would rather thank Karl and Jim for the planning and execution of this photo tour. Everything ran so smoothly that all I needed to do was just concentrating on the images. It was really like a family setting. I’ve been in a big photo tour of 40 photographers before, only to find a big mass. In Karl’s group, everyone was supportive for everyone else. It worked nicely and I didn’t have to worry about checking maps, driving, meals and other things I can think of.  And tons of pictures were taken through this trip, which was the real purpose of it.  Karl has the right skill to lead a photo workshop.  He also has the leadership quality, and on top of that, he is a very nice man! Thank you for the Peru Trip CD. It seems to me that the trip to Peru never ends. I mailed out my images of Peru to Karl for the post-Peru party this Friday.  Thank you again for organizing the memorable trip for me.”  Paul Sohn, San Jose, CA

Jim, it was a wonderful trip – we really enjoyed all the people and activities. You were a great tour guide knowing not only all the photographic tricks and techniques but also knowing all the people and special places where great pictures can be taken. We hope to go with you to another tour soon!”  Sandor Szalma & Judit Sipos Szabo, San Diego, CA

“Hi Jim, I want to thank you for an awesome weekend.  It more than met both of our expectations.  You are a very patient teacher. Both Bo and I learned a lot and we also had a lot of fun. We will definitely go again on another one of your tours as soon as we can arrange our schedule to meet the tour dates.”  Lynne Glezos, Fountain Valley, CA

"“I really enjoyed the tour in Peru. It was very well organized and Karl was perfect as a leader. What patience that man has. Karl was great with helping, organizing and coordinating.  He has a lot of patience and never showed any signs of intolerance toward anybody - that’s a huge quality.  He made things go smoothly.  I would definitely recommend Jim Cline Photo Tours and did already. I didn’t think that I would enjoy this type of tour but I really did.  Thank you for everything”" Elise Jacob, Quebec, Canada

“Great trip!  It felt like a weeklong vacation.  Very relaxing and engaging.  Jim – I’ll travel with your company again!”  Julia Knoke, Del Mar, CA

“That was a great trip.  Thank you SOO much for being a great guide.  Thank you again for everything!  It was perfect!!”  Mimi Mayer, Los Angeles, CA

“Karl is an excellent leader.  He cares very much that the participants get the photos they can, and has great people skills.  We learned a lot by observing how Karl interacts with the local people.  We plan on going on more tours with him and Jim of course!  We also appreciate the slide show and group photo sent to us.  We hope to go on more Jim Cline tours in the future.”  David & Marketa Ebert, Hyattsville, Maryland

“Hola Jim, thanks for a really great trip. I'm in Mexico City at the Hotel Marlowe for the moment. Boy, I sure would like to be there for the get-together. I'd love to see everyone's work. I ran through some of mine last night and feel like I got a few good ones. In fact, I think my averages are improving. Or maybe I'm just shooting even more. Found myself using fill-flash a couple of times today. I'd never bothered with it before, just did double shots. (metered twice).  You've had an influence. In other ways, too, I'm sure, but that one stands out.”  John Farnsworth, Santa Fe, New Mexico

“Karl is a great teacher and leader– clone this guy – great person – great photographer – he was “Mr Cool” – sincere.  I wish I could go on more tours with Karl. Thanks very much.”  George Shey, Webster City, Iowa

“Jim, first I would like to thank you for your time and expertise.  This was an excellent way to spend 2 days.  In reviewing the pictures, I am seeing the changes in photos I took based on the knowledge you inserted into my thick skull.   I really look forward to future trips and seeing you again soon.  It was fun meeting everyone else as well.  I am off to Turkey Sunday but am planning to extend over the following weekend in Istanbul, so I hope I can remember everything I learned and show a couple of new items as well.”  Richard Schoettger, San Diego, CA

“Hi Jim, thanks for a great trip. I took my best photos ever and received many complements in both my classes.  Especially, thanks for all the individual help you gave me.”  Lew Grinnan, La Jolla, CA
