Jim Cline: An award-winning photographer based in San Diego, California, Jim especially enjoys exploring and photographing less-traveled areas, avoiding the typical tourist destinations. He takes particular interest in the indigenous peoples and traditional and tribal cultures of developing nations, and in documenting these disappearing cultures. Through his photographs he strives to portray the dignity and timeless beauty of these people living in harmony with nature. Jim's wanderlust and search for compelling images has brought him to 30 countries around the globe, but his area of special interest is in the countries of Latin America. He is known for his willingness to shoot all around the edges of light, creating images with tremendous impact that capture the essence of a place or culture. As well as winning numerous awards, Jim's work has been displayed in the San Diego Natural History Museum, the San Diego Museum of Photographic Arts, various galleries, and published in numerous publications including books, magazines, annual reports, brochures, calendars and CD covers. Karl Grobl: Traveling to the far corners of the world to tell compelling stories, award-winning photojournalist Karl Grobl reveals the human side of issues faced by people accross the globe. HIs images offer viewers intimate glimpses into the lives of ordinary people all over the world and provide an opportunity for us to reflect upon, and understand their personal struggles and triumphs. With a keen awareness and reverence for human dignity, Karl creates photographs that not only educate and motivate but also stir a viewer's deep emotion. Grobl specializes in humanitarian photojournalism, documenting the work of non-government organizations in the developing world. His most recent project was a year-long documentary of Health Volunteers Overseas, a Washington, DC based healthcare provider with facilities in over 25 countries, a photo documentary on the AIDS crisis in Cambodia and Vietnam, and a story on micro-finance and healthcare programs in Haiti, West Africa and South America. Ralph Velasco: An award-winning travel photographer, instructor and international tour guide, he's the author of Ralph Velasco on Travel Photography: 101 Tips for Developing Your Photographic Eye & More . Ralph recently created and launched a new app for iPhone and iPod touch called My Shot LIsts for Travel. A simple but powerful tool, the application was designed to help travelers of all photography skill levels to bring back a more interesting and well-rounded collection of images from any destination. One user said it's "...like having an entire Travel Photography course in your pocket." For both 2009 and 2010 Ralph was selected Open Photographer of the Year by the Professional Photographers of Orange County (PPOC). Additionally, he's the founder of PhotoWalkingTours.com, the Photography Boot Camp and PhotoEnrichment programs. Ralph is a member of the Photographic Society of America, the Photographic Society of Orange County, the PPOC, the Travel Photographers Network and the Circumnavigators Club, a unique group of travelers whose charter requires that members have traeled around the world in a single journey, having crossed every one of the earth's meridians.
